Loudoun County came together in November and December to envision their future as one of the first steps in preparing a new plan for the community. The Listening & Learning Workshops were the public kickoff for Envision LOUDOUN, a community-driven process to create a vision and direction for the community. Nearly 900 people participated in the six workshops that were held to help shape the future of the community, the biggest of which drew over 225 people. Participants shared what is needed to make Loudoun County an even better community and mapped ideas that correlated with their feedback.
The online version of the Listening & Learning form closed January 11, at midnight, collecting more than 1,000 new ideas from 500 individuals and adding to the 900+ individuals who participated in the in-person workshops. In all, the first round of engagement for Envision LOUDOUN generated over 4,500 unique ideas and opportunities.
Over the coming weeks, these ideas will be compiled by the Planning Team and collected into major and minor themes. Out of this mountain of input, the team will work with the Stakeholder Committee to develop the community’s vision and goals for the future. The team will release information from the first round of engagement as it is compiled. Please stay tuned to the Envision Loudoun website, facebook, twitter or the county’s resources for updates on the process.
