The draft One Decatur comprehensive plan has been unveiled! Approximately 250 people turned out to view the draft plan at an Open House last week. Participants were able to view boards about the plan’s recommendations and to identify their priority actions for implementation. The plan reflects the values and aspirations of the community and is organized around five theme areas: Creating a Quality Place; Improving our Mobility; Advancing our Prosperity; Strengthening our Community; and Enhancing our Amenities. Within these themes, objectives with related actions will guide implementation of the plan.
Open House attendee comments will continue throughout the month of October as the boards circulate around the city. There is also an online engagement opportunity on the One Decatur website to help ensure everyone has a chance to comment. The steering committee and planning staff will use the public input from this round of engagement to refine the plan before adoption and implementation.
