The Central Ohio Greenways Board has recently approved a Strategic Action Plan, which will serve as a foundation for decision making concerning trail development, marketing, and maintenance strategies over the next five years.
As part the strategic planning effort, Planning NEXT researched eight national trail networks to provide insight into innovative ideas, possible partnerships and organizing structures. Through this educational process, a Best Practices Report was created, which guided the development of the Strategic Action Plan.
The Planning NEXT team worked closely with members of the COG Board to develop talking points, refine the Board’s vision, and to develop 53 action items for the plan. These action items are tasks that will be completed within the next five years to strive towards the COG vision of a world-class network of trails easily accessible to every Central Ohioan.
