The Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission (NITDC) saw unprecedented convening of Northern Indiana leaders at a Leadership Forum held in late September. Almost 80 public and private stakeholders from the region met to discuss opportunities and challenges and to think creatively about what the Indiana Toll Road could be for the communities its touches…and think creatively they did! Ideas were many and varied, ranging from creating a scavenger hunt along the toll road to installing “epic” art that reflects the community.
This winter, the Planning NEXT team will help guide an advisory group, which was formed following the forum, to envision what this shared asset means for the communities long-term and how it can be leveraged for the future. The result will be an idea book that will include a mix of practical, and out-of-the-ordinary, concepts for the future of the Indiana Toll Road.
