Fayette County is entering a period of significant change. With new development on the horizon, most notably at the Mega-Site, County leaders are taking a proactive approach to preparing for these changes with a new comprehensive community plan.
Led by Planning NEXT, this effort will create a clear, community-driven roadmap that reflects the values and aspirations of those who live, work, and invest there. The plan will serve as a blueprint for growth, ensuring that local voices shape priorities around infrastructure, jobs, land use, agriculture, workforce development, quality of life, and local amenities.
The comprehensive planning process will build upon Fayette County’s history of thoughtfully planning for the future. As the County faces new opportunities and challenges, this plan will provide a unified framework for decision-making and investment.
Public engagement will begin in July 2025, offering a range of opportunities for community members to participate. Opportunities to participate will be hosted across the County, and an online survey will be launched to gather broad input. The planning process is an opportunity for everyone to have their say about the future of Fayette County.
Once collected and analyzed, the community’s input will serve as the foundation for the county’s vision, contribute to the plan’s goals, inspire specific actions, and set the course for implementation. The planning process will continue until November 2025.
