For the second year in a row, the team at planning NEXT helped the Short North Alliance think through its next steps, in facilitating an annual strategic planning retreat. The Alliance is a Columbus-based non-profit charged with maintaining the vibrancy, economic vitality and individuality of one of the city’s great neighborhoods, the Short North. Prior to this year’s retreat, the Alliance named a new Executive Director (Betsy Pandora) and is poised for a successful 2014. Participants included Alliance staff, Board of Directors and members of the area’s Special Improvement District Board. In a half-day retreat, we helped this group work through a number of activities to articulate the most effective and impactful next steps for the Alliance and establish priorities for immediate or long-term action.
In a recent interview by the Metropreneur online magazine, Executive Director Betsy Pandora talks about the Short North Alliance’s strategic planning and explains why the neighborhood is a growing hub for small businesses.
