Imagine Cary is approaching the finish line! In this three-year planning process to create a new Community Plan for the Town of Cary, North Carolina, community engagement has been at the forefront. Now in the final stage of the most robust public engagement process in the Town’s history, the Draft Community Plan is on display for everyone who cares about the future of Cary to review and submit their comments before the plan is finalized.
In collaboration with our partners Clarion Associates, Planning NEXT summarized the Draft Cary Community Plan into a format that could easily be shared at two large-scale public Open House meetings, one held this past week and one scheduled for tomorrow night. To complement the in-person event, we then created a special Open House webpage to allow people to learn about the plan and provide feedback at their own pace.
Cary’s online Open House provides a detailed and interactive summary of the ten chapters in Cary’s Community Plan by distilling “What the Plan will Achieve” into five interrelated themes. Visitors can also view the plan online in full, download a full pdf, or view special planning sections and detailed maps.
The online draft will be open for comments over the next 30 days. After 30 days, the input will be reviewed and incorporated into the Community Plan for adoption by the Town. More information on tomorrow’s Open House in-person meeting can be found here.
