FRAMEWORK has been awarded the 2024 William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award!
In 2022, Planning NEXT, a Columbus-based community planning practice, was contracted to consult the facilitation and design of the FRAMEWORK plan. This recognition was presented by the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission during their 2024 State Of The Region event. The award recognizes individuals and organizations in Central Ohio that have demonstrated outstanding efforts in inclusive collaboration, diverse thought, and tangible results addressing regional challenges.
“FRAMEWORK is an incredible best practice in how to respond to the pressures of growth. This effort has brought many Licking County community partners to the table, fostered trust, and instilled a sense of vision for the future,” said MORPC’s Executive Director William Murdock. “FRAMEWORK is a testament to a shared commitment to preserve the distinct character of each village, township, and city while strategically addressing development and change. This effort is a great example in leadership and philanthropic partnership for communities across Central Ohio and beyond.”
FRAMEWORK, a groundbreaking initiative supported by Licking County leaders and led by Sarah Wallace from the Thomas J. Evans Foundation, reflects a proactive response to the challenges and opportunities presented by the growth and change in the County over the past few years, including the unprecedented $20 billion investment from Intel in early 2022—the largest economic project in Ohio’s history. FRAMEWORK’s 15 jurisdictions collaborated in an unprecedented manner, listening and learning from the community, integrating robust technical analysis and building trust of each other.
FRAMEWORK is just one of several high-impact Central Ohio initiatives that Planning NEXT is supporting. The firm has been a strategy and engagement consultant for LinkUS since its inception in 2020, and the firm is currently the land use and development consultant for the Ohio Department of Transportation Strategic Development Analysis and MORPC’s Intel 40 Minute study.
While 40 percent of the firm’s work is outside Ohio, the Planning NEXT team is passionate about working with the people and places that make Central Ohio such a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
