We’re thrilled to share that Central Ohio has taken a monumental step forward with the passage of LinkUS, COTA’s transformative mobility initiative! With an ambitious $8 billion investment, LinkUS will expand transit service, improve sidewalk infrastructure, and increase access to opportunity across Central Ohio. A big congratulations to the dedicated team whose hard work brought this vision to reality—we’re honored to have been part of it!
For over five years, Planning NEXT has proudly contributed to LinkUS, from designing the original communications and engagement plan in 2020, to co-leading the regional engagement team with MurphyEpson, and advising COTA’s senior leaders. This initiative holds immense potential to shape a brighter future for all who call Central Ohio home.
LinkUS also aligns with the City of Columbus’ Zone In process, a once-in-a-generation effort to modernize zoning for the first time in 70 years. Together, these initiatives offer the community an opportunity to “zone in” on thoughtful, sustainable growth, enhancing the region’s quality of life while ensuring Central Ohio remains vibrant and accessible for all.
