ADVANCE launches, aims to unlock the potential of East Central Indiana

By May 22, 2015May 27th, 2015Project Updates

On June 9, six counties in East Central Indiana will host a Regional Summit to kick-off of ADVANCE, a vision and action plan for the region. ADVANCE promises to help the region unlock its unrealized potential through a deliberate, inclusive, and in-depth regional planning process. It will also allow the region to compete in the Indiana Regional Cities Initiative. Through this initiative, the Indiana Economic Development Council is encouraging communities to develop vision and action plans that will “attract and retain future generations of Hoosiers.” The Regional Cities Initiative will award funding through an $84 million grant program to implement projects in those regional action plans.

At the Regional Summit, participants will have the opportunity to hear the first ever State of the Region Report, evaluate initial projects to submit to pursue as part of the plan, and generate Big Ideas for the future.
