Gahanna stands at a pivotal moment, as economic transformation, evolving work habits, and regional growth trends create new opportunities and challenges. To build on this momentum, the City launched Our Gahanna, a citywide planning initiative designed to chart a bold and collaborative course for the future. Developed in partnership with Planning NEXT, the Strategic Plan reflects a shared vision for Gahanna’s continued success, ensuring the City thrives as it grows and evolves while reimagining community assets to best serve residents.

Harnessing the moment

The Strategic Plan and Economic Development Strategy is Gahanna’s roadmap for harnessing this transformative moment and turning opportunity into action. With regional economic development accelerating and bringing new investment and jobs, the City is poised for growth and innovation. The expansion of the Columbus Airport strengthens Gahanna’s role as a gateway for business and travel, while the continuation of LinkUS, a regional transportation and growth initiative, will expand transit service and invest in active transportation, improving mobility and connectivity. Our Gahanna aligns these opportunities and ensures the City can shape a future defined by economic vitality, innovation, and an exceptional quality of life.

Connecting people to the planning process

Community and staff engagement were at the heart of the planning process. A dedicated Steering Committee guided the process, ensuring broad representation and thoughtful input. The City hosted three rounds of public engagement, with events held at locations throughout Gahanna to make participation accessible and convenient for everyone. In addition to community meetings, the process included business roundtables, pop-up engagement opportunities, and other creative outreach methods. This commitment to inclusivity resulted in more than 1,800 participants contributing their voices and over 9,100 pieces of input collected.
