Plans for Columbia and Richland County adopted!

Over the past year, the City of Columbia and Richland County, South Carolina have gathered extensive input from their communities to shape future growth through a process called Plan Together. Now the land use plans have been adopted by their respective elected bodies.

Plan Together began in 2014 as an unprecedented cooperative effort between the City of Columbia and Richland County that lead to two coordinated land use plans, Plan Columbia and Plan Richland County.

Columbia’s Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations rewrite is begins. The City of Columbia is continuing the Plan Together process with a significant step toward implementing Plan Columbia – preparing a Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Rewrite, the city’s first in nearly 50 years. The Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision rewrite will put the pieces in place to ensure that future development in the city reflects the community’s vision.
