On January 30th, Planning NEXT facilitated the Imagine Tomorrow Workshop with people who live, work, shop, worship and learn in Overland Park, Kansas. The Imagine Tomorrow Workshop was attended by more than 550 people. When people arrived to the workshop they could use their smart phone to participate in an interactive word cloud activity which asked them to submit what they love best about Overland Park.
Activities for the evening included a “Write the Headline” exercise, where participants wrote what they hoped the headlines would be for Overland Park in 20 years, and a group brainstorming exercise that helped participants think about their priorities for making the community even better in the future.
TheForward OP Vision and Strategic Planning process, is an opportunity for the entire community to pause, take stock and define, as a community, what they want to be in the future and how to get there. The plan will outline a path of continued success for the next 20-25 years and be based on the input from the public. The vision plan will align all aspects of community life and identify goals and specific actions for Overland Park to implement in the future.
