Planning NEXT has been selected to lead a collaborative effort with the Central Mississippi River Regional Planning Partnership to formulate a Regional Land Use Planning and Economic Development Framework. Working with the Partnership, the planning team will focus on successfully aligning multiple jurisdictions and facilitating a robust public engagement process. The framework will integrate growth management, land use and economic analysis.

Formed in 2016, the Central Mississippi River Regional Planning Partnership includes the cities of Becker, Big Lake, and Monticello, Becker and Big Lake townships, and Sherburne and Wright counties in Minnesota. The Partner counties, cities, and townships are experiencing continued growth and development with over 200,000 people populating the region. The effort aims to create a multijurisdictional, collaborative framework that optimizes regional and local benefits to maintain a high quality of life for area residents, businesses and visitors.

The team will be supported by Ninigret Partners, an economic firm known for their unconventional approach to complex issues facing businesses, organizations, cities, towns and regions.
