Over that past seven months, Planning NEXT has been working with the Madison County Council of Governments on the 2045 InMotion Transportation Plan for all of Madison County, Indiana and the communities of Daleville and Fortville. On March 4, the public was invited to the primary public event for the process, Destination 2045, to hear about progress on creating the plan and to test the plan’s direction. Featured speaker, Gabe Klein, kicked off the event. Gabe is an entrepreneur, investor, and author of Start-Up City: Inspiring Private and Public Entrepreneurship, Getting Projects Done, and Having Fun. Following this, participants had the chance to participate in interactive activities to provide input on draft ideas for the plan.
The final plan document is under development and will address future investment, land use, and quality of life and quality of place issues. The plan will act as a guide for the future of transportation facilities and how they function as an integrated metropolitan transportation system. Additionally, 2045 inMotion will plan for transportation factors that support the economic vitality of the metropolitan area.
