Over 700 people in Dublin, Ohio, have shared Big Ideas for the future of the City as part of Dublin 2035, a framework to guide city investments, policy decisions and community collaboration over the next 15 years. Community members offered a wide range of thoughts about how Dublin can strive to be the best possible community: establishing a regional sports complex, developing a hyper-loop station, becoming a carbon neutral city and more. A video produced by the City highlighted the process and some of the Big Ideas that were shared.
In Spring 2021, Planning NEXT was engaged to assist staff with facilitating the ambitious Dublin 2035 process, which will help civic leaders and community members in the thriving City to further stretch their thinking about what is possible. Public engagement for the Big Idea phase included a series of pop-up events throughout the city and online activities for gathering transformative outcomes for the future. Following this phase, additional research will be conducted and insights from community members collected before recommendations are refined and prioritized. Adoption and implementation of the framework will take place beginning in 2022.
Planning NEXT has a long and proud history of work in Dublin, dating back to our work on the 2007 Community Plan and Area Plans, which helped to guide the City for many years. It is our great privilege to help the City again now in charting a new course for the future.
