On November 23rd, the Lebanon City Council unanimously voted to adopt their City’s latest comprehensive plan, Envision Lebanon. It is organized by five overarching goals and guided by vision and mission statements. Rigorous technical analysis and two robust rounds of public engagement helped shape the Plan’s 92 Actions and four area-wide plans, which provided a finer grain of planning within specific areas of the City.
With the support of community feedback, the City has prioritized the maintenance of its rural character surrounding the City, reflecting its rich history and tradition of place, while investing in the development of new Innovation Districts throughout the City limits. This is just one way in which Envision Lebanon respects the City’s past while guiding its future.
In addition, the plan content considers input from specific stakeholder listening sessions regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the City. Together, the input received helped formulate the Plan Actions and set forth a new standard for planning processes in Lebanon.
