Summit County, OH honored with national award

The Age-Friendly Summit County plan has been awarded a 2022 Small Town and Rural (STaR) Award from the national American Planning Association (APA)!

The Age-Friendly Summit County Strategic Plan for Summit County, OH, was awarded the Vernon Deines Merit Award for a Small Town or Rural Plan – Large Jurisdiction.

The strategic planning work for Age-Friendly Summit County launched in Spring of 2021. The Strategic Plan was the result of the community’s thoughtful input and participation, along with guidance and research from regional experts, and will guide the County’s Age-Friendly efforts for the next five years, and beyond.
