Planning NEXT is once again adding to its extensive Town-Gown experience. Manchester University, located in North Manchester, IN, has contracted the firm to assist the University in developing competitive, catalytic projects in order to secure up to $25 million in implementation grants from the Lilly Endowment through its College and Community Collaboration (CCC) Initiative.
Through CCC, Universities located in Indiana were able to submit letters requesting grants to engage in planning activities that are specifically aimed at revitalizing these town-gown communities. Manchester University was awarded a grant, and selected Planning NEXT to formulate a proposal based on intense engagement with community stakeholders and rigorous technical analysis of the University. The proposed projects and the possible implementation funds will have the potential to radically advance the University and its surrounding community.
Manchester University will join the list of catalytic, anchor institutions that Planning NEXT has had the privilege of working with, such as the University of Dayton (onMain), Columbus State Community College (Creative Campus Initiative), The University of Georgia (Envision Athens), and Davidson College (What’s Next Davidson), among others.
