Planning NEXT has been selected to lead a project that is not only a transformational opportunity for a beloved community, but also has historic significance to our firm. In 1997, Planning NEXT began its journey as a community planning practice in a small office on the Bank Block of Grandview Avenue, and now, 26 years later, we find ourselves back in Grandview Heights in Grandview Yard. Our Team knows this area well and has played a significant role in its planning and development, with multiple members on our leadership team having served on the Grandview Heights Planning Commission over the past two decades.
Earlier this year, the City of Grandview Heights, Ohio, awarded Planning NEXT a contract to lead the First and Grandview District Plan. This district plan, in the heart of Grandview Heights, is spurred by recent changes in the area including school renovation and new construction, improvements to the Grandview Heights library, and the addition of new parkland on First Avenue, combined with anticipated investment in the area. All align to indicate that it’s time to develop a shared vision for this special district. Our Team will focus on helping the area realize its full potential as a historic place within a dynamic community, as a part of a growing region.
With our roots again firmly planted in Grandview Heights, we are both eager and excited to commence this project. Our focus will be on diverse and equitable engagement throughout the planning process to deeply understand the community’s desires for this treasured area of the City. REALM Collaborative, a public space design studio, and McBride Dale Clarion, a planning and zoning code consultant, have partnered with our Team on this important effort.
We look forward to helping to shape the future of this special part of Grandview Heights.
