Later this week, Jamie Greene, AIA FAICP, and Sarah Kelly, AICP, will be speaking at the 144th Annual County Commissioners Association of Ohio Winter Conference.
Jamie will serve as a panelist for the session “Planning for Change: Tools for Innovative Partnerships for Housing.” Drawing on Planning NEXT’s work in Fairfield County, Jamie will discuss the innovative use of New Community Authorities (NCAs) as a tool for addressing housing needs. His insights will highlight how partnerships and creative strategies can drive housing solutions that meet the evolving needs of Ohio communities.
Sarah, along with APA Ohio Director, Christine Dersi Davis, AICP, will present a session diving into the complexities of comprehensive planning in Ohio with a session titled “Comprehensive Planning: Is Something Really Better than Nothing?” With plans across the state varying widely in quality and impact, Sarah’s session will explore whether Ohio should establish standards or guidance for comprehensive planning, examine benchmarks from other states, and discuss how planners can advocate for better planning processes.
Both sessions will share critical knowledge and engage with leaders from across the state to tackle crucial issues pertinent to Ohio’s future!
