Brian Ashworth, PLA, will be speaking on growing town centers the bi-annual conference presented by the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana chapters (OKI) of the American Planning Association (APA) September 28-30.
Brian will present How Ohio’s Town Centers Can Grow Up (Not Out!) along with Asti Powell from the City of Chillicothe, Ohio, and David Effland, FAICP, from the City of Delaware, Ohio. Brian and his copresenters will describe and advocate for the use of comprehensive plans to revitalize and encourage focused investment in town centers. Though it can be difficult to focus sprawling growth, the necessity of this work is underpinned by the idea that quality of place is an economic driver, not just a design preference.
